Whitoken iPhone Theme Whitoken theme for iPhone

I’ve mentioned in a few recent posts about my 3GS jailbreak experience that I really wasn’t seeing any themes that tempted me much.  Well … this one sure does.  It’s called Whitoken, it’s one of those very ‘complete’ and transforming sort of themes, and I think it’s pretty stunning looking.

For now, I’m tempted only, not acting on it – as it falls into that ‘does too much’ category for me, and it is also fairly complex to implement and requires the install of several additional apps and a lot of setup work to make it work.  Just to illustrate this, there’s a 9-page guide to installing it at the Quickpwn site – although two pages are on how to jailbreak and install Winterboard, and it could probably be far less pages if the site wasn’t looking to fit so many ad blocks in.

I spotted this via a post by Larry Greenberg over at Gear Diary.  He’s got it installed and he’s got tons of good screencaps of this slick theme in action, so to speak.  Go HERE to see Larry’s post on it, take in all the lovely screencaps, and find links to the Macthemes forum thread on the theme.

Oh, and here’s a decent looking guide – in one long page – to installing it, with a direct download link for the theme at the bottom of the install instructions – which I am going to try hard to not look at anymore, as temptation is growing.

Looks interesting. I'm gonna hit the link to check out the rest of the screencaps. I KNOW that that's too much for you, and I'll have to check, cuz it might be too much for me as well. My whole thing is streamlining the experience. Fewer clicks and swipes to get to what I need. From an initial look it seems that this theme may add a few too many of those. But I do love those themes that get that "That's an iphone?!?!" response from people. If I try it I'll be sure to let you know my thoughts

I retract my previous statement. It seems to be about on par with my setup now, as far as accesibility. I dont know if you ever tried that glasklart theme I recommended to you last week, but what a coincidence that Laryy used that too and combined it with whitoken. It really is the best looking icon theme IMO for the iphone. Definitely going to install. The only problem is I'm stuck working nights this week and I'm already at work, and our firewall wont let me ssh into my phone. BUT WAIT!! Maybe if I email the download to myself, save it to my phone with attachment saver, place it where it needs to go and decompress with ifile….STOP! This might be an all night project!! LOL

Cool – look forward to hearing your thoughts Shobizz. :) Oh, and hope it doesn't take you all night as well.

Very nice looking. Love the shade of blue on the background – and always love a bit of Macy Gray on the iPod. :)
