Some days ago I read about a neat experiment on MinimalMac:
See here is the deal, I have come to believe that the only icons that should be on the first screen are the ones you really use. And by use I mean at least once a week and ideally several times a day. And while I can say for certain that applies to many of the apps that you see in this screenshot, others I am less sure about.
Therefore, here is the plan. With the exception of those in the “dock” area (Phone, Mail, Messages, and Safari) which I consider crucial to the entire point of even having an iPhone, I am going to clear everything from the home screen. Any apps that get accessed more than once in the course of the next week will be allowed to come back.
Sometimes our home screens get cluttered way too much. This applies well to the first one. I know for sure I’m keeping some apps that I feel I can’t let go because I have memories with them (!). Yeah, memories with an app. For example, I used the Remote almost everyday, but now that I’ve bought a Macbook, I tend to use the Remote far less often. Actually, I don’t even remember the last time I used it.
So this method is mechanical and error-proof – as long as I am honest moving the apps back to the first homescreen. The screenshot up top was my homescreen before the “challenge”. Let’s see how it changes in a week.

I swear I keep changing my home screen every other day. I tend to leave one space free on my home screen just in case.
I'm messing with SSH and stuff at the moment, but come next week I'll see how long I can leave it alone
Are you Brazillian, or Portuguese?
