NotifcationsSettings

This is a very, very basic tip – in response to seeing a lot of folks here on this site and in forums, and on Twitter etc. asking why they cannot see Notifications settings after installing the latest iPhone OS 3.0.

The answer is that you need to have at least one app installed that uses push notifications, in order for the Notifications section to show up in the Settings app.  If you don’t have an app that uses them installed, you won’t see that settings section.

Right now, there are very few apps that use notifications (though that will change very quickly) – but two that you can definitely use to test with, and that are free apps, are AP Mobile (the news app) and Tap Tap Revenge 2.6.  Once you install one of those, or other apps with push enabled, you’ll see the Notifications section as shown in the screencap at the top of this post.
